The SDA advocates that in Independent Scotland we will have the resources to provide an individual state pension which will enable our elderly citizens to live in dignity.

Independent Scotland will be in a position to start afresh with the provision of pensions. The current systems do not provide pensions which permit many of our retired elderly to live with dignity after working and contributing all their lives.

The SDA are in the process of formulating proposals which will enable our elderly citizens to have access to an improved level of pensions.

We foresee the need for review in three areas; the individual State Pension, a private pension scheme and a scheme for government employees.
